MORE OF THE YELLOW STUFF

Spring has definitely sprung out here in the Central West of N.S.W., Australia. There are large tracts of yellow canola blossoms all over the place. Some of it is quite tall, too. Friends of mine have some that would have to be at least 4 feet tall!!

Anyway, here's my latest couple of efforts with the camera, using canola crops as the subject. Both of them made it to 'Explore' in Flickr, which is rather amazing.

The first one was taken with my little Canon camera, an IXUS 135, on the way home from Orange a couple of weeks ago. It comprises 2 shots, which were made into this panorama by Photoshop CS6. It turned out pretty well, considering that I didn't make an special settings on the camera. The church is St. Paul's Anglican church at Warraderry, which is part of the Grenfell Anglican Parish.

This latest canola panorama was taken with my 'real' camera, the Canon 7D, coupled with a Sigma 17-50mm f2.8 lens. It comprises 5 separate images, all taken at 1/160th of a second @ f20. They were then joined together by Photoshop CS6.

I just love the contrasting colours at this spot, which I have photographed previously, as it's only about 12 kilometres outside Grenfell. As I mentioned, this also made it to 'Explore' in Flickr and, although it was uploaded only 2 days ago, it has had almost 6,000 'hits' already. Amazing!

Again, please click on the image to see a much larger version, with more detail.

Thanks for stopping by! While you're here, check out some of my other posts and a video or two (they're all pretty short).
